Jagatsinghpur: The district government conducted a coordination meeting among stakeholders, including local residents, on Friday to put the JSW Integrated Steel Plant at Paradip on a fast track.

District collector Parul Patawari organised a conference at the collectorate to review the difficulties made by those affected by the project, particularly in the wake of the COVID outbreak.

People in the project area voiced their concerns, and the authorities responded with information. Revised pay rates for betel vine owners, fishers, and labour, as well as skilling and career prospects for adolescents in the region, were among the main topics covered.

The discussion served as a platform for creating trust in order to prepare the way for project grounding later this month. "We are grateful to the government and the district administration for making this possible," said Ranjan Nayak, COO of JSW. "Our goal is to ground the project within the allowed time period for maximum benefit to the people in the region."

Officials from JSW described their operations in Odisha as well as the project's CSR proposal. The conference decided that the discussions will take place at the village level in order to gain greater acceptance.

The meeting was attended by local MLA Raghunandan Dash, MPs Dr Rajashri Mallick and Akhilesvar Singh, Jagatsignhpur SP, and senior company personnel. The meeting was attended by more than 60 panchayat leaders from project areas such as Dhinkia, Gadakujang, Nuagaon, Govindpur, and Mahalo.
