Balasore: Drug peddlers raided Bidyadharpur hamlet within Basta's police boundaries in Balasore on Friday, attacking police officers.
According to reports, a combined squad in Bidyadharpur village was assailted by Cuttack Excise, Basta Police and Balasore Police who confiscated 2 kg of brown sugar worth Rs 2. Three drug traders have also been detained, including a woman.
However, the raiding squad was facing some drug mafia opposition. A cop was wounded and the attack damaged the vehicle.
Police have been striving for the mastermind in this fraud.
More than 10.5 kg brown sugar were discovered and 72 shopkeepers were detained in the previous three months in Balasore area.
