Bhadrak: A dies following a tubectomy procedure in a village in Odisha's Bhadrak district, with her family members alleging that the tragedy was caused by doctor negligence.
On Tuesday, the incident occurred at a government-run family planning camp in the district of Barapada, near Routrapur. According to sources, the woman, identified as Jayanti Bej, had undergone surgery at the Barapada camp.
Jayanti, on the other hand, reported severe pain and a swollen stomach following the operation. She was taken to a nearby hospital and later transferred to Cuttack as her health deteriorated. On Wednesday, she died while undergoing treatment in Cuttack.
Following the incident, her family claimed the woman died because the doctors apparently severed her urinary tract during the tubectomy, which was performed in the dark due to a power outage.
The woman's family members have filed a complaint with the Bhadral Rural police station, claiming that there was a power outage during the procedure.
According to district medical officials, the woman's body was sent for a postmortem and the exact cause of death will be known once the report is received.
