 Odia writer Paramita Satpathy has been awarded the Sarala Puraskar

Bhubaneswar: Paramita Satpathy, an eminent Odia fiction writer, has been nominated for the 42nd Sarala Puraskar for her novel "Abhipreta Kala."

Paschima Publications in Bhubaneswar released the novel in 2016. She will be given a cash prize of Rs 5 lakh as well as a citation.

The Bansidhar-Ila Panda Sangeet Samman and Chitrakala Samman, which are traditionally awarded, will be announced soon.

Indian Metals Public Charitable Trust has been awarding the yearly Sarala Puraskar since 1980, when it was founded by famous Odia industrialists Dr. Bansidhar and Ila Panda (IMPaCT).
