Khurda: Huge amounts of ganja (cannabis) were seized by excise officers this afternoon in Khurda town, and one person was also detained.
Information indicates that a team of excise sleuths stopped a Tata AC car and checked it. The investigators discovered tiny ganja packets stashed in a hidden compartment that had been built specifically for that purpose in the car. They detained a person for smuggling the prohibited substance after seizing 126 kg of marijuana.
Gajapati to Bhubaneswar ganja was being delivered via Khurda.
The cannabis that was confiscated is expected to cost more than Rs 6 lakh. In order to learn more about the illicit trade, the person who was apprehended is being questioned.
