Jagatsinghpur: At least 13 fisherman are missing in the sea off the coast of Paradip in Odisha's Jagatsinghpur district.
According to sources, two boats, Kinara and Debilaxmi, set out for fishing five days ago with 13 fishermen on board before going missing 163 kilometers off the coast of Digha.
Following fruitless attempts to contact the fishermen, the owners of the two boats requested that the Coast Guard Headquarters and Marine Police launch a rescue mission.
The whereabouts of the boats and the fishermen have yet to be determined.
Meanwhile, sources indicate that the Marine Police often play no role in such cases.
