3 drivers burnt alive as fire engulfs 3 trucks after collision at Jharsuguda
Three truck drivers were killed when their vehicles caught fire on NH-49 near Sadar Police Station in Odisha's Jharsuguda district late Wednesday.
Jharsuguda: Three truck drivers were killed when their vehicles caught fire on NH-49 near Sadar Police Station in Odisha's Jharsuguda district late Wednesday.
According to sources, the accident occurred around 1 a.m. when a Belpahad-bound trailer, a hyva, and another truck collided. The vehicles are thought to have caught fire as a result of an electrical short circuit. One of the trucks was said to be carrying coal.
Firefighters rushed to the scene after being alerted and extinguished the flames. The drivers, on the other hand, did not exit their vehicles and were burned alive. According to sources, the accident could have been caused by careless driving.
Meanwhile, the charred bodies have been recovered and an investigation has begun. A crane was used to remove the damaged trucks from the highway this morning.
