Bhubaneswar: On Monday, the Samyukt Kisan Morcha (SKM) called a 10-hour Bharat Bandh in Odisha, demanding the repeal of three unpopular farm legislation.

Picketing and roadblocks were reported at various locations across the state by members of farmer organisations and officials of other parties, including the Congress and the Left parties.

The agitators conducted a rail roko at the railway station and the Master Canteen Square in Bhubaneswar.

The agitators in Balasore detained the Bangiriposi Express and automobiles on the town's major thoroughfare.

The agitators in Balangir shut down the Main Post Office and staged a picket at the railway station, delaying the Ispat Express for almost a half-hour. All commercial and trading establishments were shut down.

Similar demonstrations took place in Rourkela and Rayagada.

The state administration has decided not to operate the Odisha State Road Transport Corporation (OSRTC) buses from 6 a.m. to 3 p.m. due to the bandh call.

All federal and state government offices, markets, shops, industries, schools, colleges, and other educational institutions, as well as public and private transportation, will be closed during the bandh, according to the SKM.

However, emergency services such as ambulances and fire departments will be permitted to operate
