Bhubaneswar: BJB Junior College authorities in Bhubaneswar suspended four students on Thursday, hours after they were apprehended for reportedly assaulting a junior.

According to sources, the students will be barred from entering the college campus until additional orders are issued.

Four Plus II, second-year students were arrested earlier today by Twin City Commissionerate Police. Because three of them are juveniles, they will be brought before the Juvenile Justice Board, according to Bhubaneswar DCP Prateek Singh.

He explained that the action was conducted in response to a complaint filed by a female acquaintance of the Plus II first-year Science student after a video of him being thrashed went viral on social media on Wednesday. "In the films, seniors are shown abusing and punching the boy on campus. "Police arrived on campus after receiving information and approached the victims after performing a preliminary investigation," he explained.

At Badagad police station, a case has been recorded under Sections 341 (wrongful restraint), 294 (any obscene conduct in any public place), 323 (voluntarily causing hurt), 506 (criminal intimidation), and 34 (acts done by multiple persons in furtherance of same intention) of the IPC.
