Airline Operation Of Jeypore Airport To commence Soon

Bhubaneswar: According to sources, scheduled flight operations from Jeypore Airport in the Koraput district of Odisha are anticipated to start soon now that all necessary infrastructure is in place.

Once the necessary permission is gained for the purpose, the airport is ready and an airline is also prepared to start flight operations from the airport located in south Odisha, according to official sources.

After getting the necessary licence for beginning flight operations from Jeypore, they claimed that the state will have excellent hinterland air connections.

The state's Department of Commerce and Transportation tweeted, "Big news! Odisha would have excellent hinterland connectivity once the airport licence is granted. "#Jeypore airport is ready with full praises and application made for necessary licence scheduled airline operation."

You should be aware that in July 2022, a team from the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) paid a visit to the Jeypore airfield. Before granting final clearance for flight operations, the three-person team had brought up several concerns regarding the safety and security of the runway and asked the district administration for early compliance, they claimed.

The crew had examined the airport's runway, perimeter security wall, passenger safety, technological equipment, and other facilities with district officials.

Two deputy directors from the DGCA headquarters in New Delhi and a representative from the eastern region made up the Central team.

Jharsuguda Airport, one of the five airstrips in Odisha that were included in the UDAN scheme in 2016, has been in service since 2018. The other four airstrips—at Rourkela, Jeypore, Utkela, and Rangeilunda—were in various stages of development. Jeypore is currently prepared for flight operations.
