BJD requests a demand to change the HC name from Orissa to Odisha

Bhubaneswar: The Biju Janata Dal (BJD) has petitioned the Centre to adopt legislation renaming the Orissa High Court.
BJD MP Prasanna Acharya raised the issue during zero hour in the Rajya Sabha on Wednesday, drawing the attention of the Central administration.
According to Acharya, the state's name has been changed from Orissa to Odisha for a long time, and all state government offices and establishments have been renamed to reflect the new name.
He went on to say that the state's high court is still using the old name of Orissa. The MP urged that the Centre draught a special law to change the Orissa High Court's name to Odisha High Court because the high court's name can be changed by a Central law.
