Congress Leader Sarat Pattanayak lodged a police complaint against death threat to Kharge
An audio recording has been released, in which Manikanta Rathod, the BJP candidate from Chittapur constituency in Kalaburagi district of Karnataka, is allegedly heard saying in Kannada that he will "wipe out All India Congress Committee (AICC) president Mallikarjun Kharge, his wife and children".

Bhubaneswar: An audio recording has been released, in which Manikanta Rathod, the BJP candidate from Chittapur constituency in Kalaburagi district of Karnataka, is allegedly heard saying in Kannada that he will "wipe out All India Congress Committee (AICC) president Mallikarjun Kharge, his wife and children".
The audio conversations reveal all the evidence of a murder conspiracy. Manikant Rathore is heard engaging professional goons to kill Kharge and his family.
Regarding this incident, State Congress President Sarat Pattanayak, MLA Santosh Singh Saluja, MLA Adhiraj Mohan Panigrahi and MLA S Rajan Ekka have lodged a police complaint in Jharsuguda police station.
He wrote that a thorough investigation should be done on the incident and strict action should be taken against the culprits.
Jharsuguda Police has filed an FIR against the complaint.
Manikant Rathore is a professional criminal. More than 40 criminal cases are registered in his name in different police stations and courts of Karnataka's Yadgiri, Shivamoga and Kalaburagi districts. Even the Yadgiri District Court has convicted him in 2 cases and sentenced him. The Shivmoga District Officer gave him explicit instructions not to enter his district.
