Body of a Whale shark recovered from Jagatsinghpur coast

Jagatsinghpur: On Sunday, on a beach near Siali and Ramatara, a 20 feet-long whale shark carcass was unearthed beneath Ersama Block in the Jagatsinghpur district of Odisha.
It was around 8 quintals in weight.
Sources show that the cadaver was detected during the patrols at night by the forest department employees. Under the sand the shark was half-buried. The corpse was subsequently attached to a cord so that it was not swamped by the waves and recovered the next morning, announced Ranjan Mishra, a Kujanga Forest Range Officer.
It is still unknown what caused his death. He stated that the autopsy will take place on Monday.
