CMC crackdown on Baliyatra stale food stalls

Cuttack: With mounting concerns over the quality of food served at the Bali yatra, the Cuttack Municipal Corporation (CMC) health squad raided many vendors on Thursday and destroyed stale food.

According to the source, the CMC fined the food stand operators. The CMC and Food Safety wing, which included food safety inspectors, conducted quality tests on cooked food and food goods kept by various stalls in Bali yatra. Officials raided food vendors and destroyed stale food worth lakhs of rupees at non-vegetarian food stalls.

They have also guaranteed that food is adequately preserved by placing a cover over the utensils to avoid any unsanitary situations.

The largest open-air trade festival began on November 8 and will run through November 16.
