Bhubaneswar: A well-attended felicitation Ceremony was organized by the Odisha Pradesh Congress Committee for the occasion of taking over charge by Sri Sarat Patnaik, the newly appointed. P.C.C. chief today at the Party's headquarters at Bhubaneswar. While encouraging the gathering Sarat Patnaik assured them of a worker-oriented performance of the new P.C. C. He also reaffirmed to work without any bias or groupism to achieve a targeted goal of enhancing the numbers in the State legislature from nine to ninety in the 2024 elections.
In the event his party assumes power in 2024, he assured to provide at least 200 Units of electricity free to every consumer of the state.
But Dr. Chellakumar sharply criticized the Naveen Govt. mainly with two allegations. The first one he pointed out was the rampant corruption and looting of state revenue by one IAS officer Mr. Pandian and one Tamilian businessman cum mines mafia Sri Prabhakaran. He urged the new President to unearth all their misdeeds and scandals, prepare charge sheets, and organize agitational programs to bring them to public notice.
Elaborating the 2nd vital issue, Dr. Chellakumar again targeted both BJP and BJD of their unholy secret alliance which he said shall be proved on the 18th of July during the ensuing Presidential election. Quoting the earlier statement given by his Holiness Sri Shankaracharya of Puri Govardhan Pitha, he further alleged that not only we as an opposition party sard it but also a person of His Holiness’s stature said it openly and urged the Party workers to have systematic programs to take up the issue for the interest of the State.
However, among others, the meeting was attended by Sri. G. Raju, Niranjan Patnaik, Jayadev Jena, Prasad Harichandan, Suresh Kumar Routray, Sarat Rout, Sushila Triya, Saptagiri Allaka MP, Taraprasad Bahini Pati, Santosh Singh Saluja Ramakant Mishra, Chiranjib Biswal and many MLAs, Ex MLAs, and Ex MPs along with senior leaders of the Congress Party.
