College principal in Vigilance net in DA case

Bhawanipatna: On charges of amassing disproportionate assets, Odisha Vigilance officers raided houses and properties connected to Ramesh Chandra Sahu, the principal of Hira Nila College in Kalahandi.

Simultaneous searches are being conducted in the Kalahandi and Khurda districts in relation to Sahu.

* Residential bungalow at Arya Palli, Dumduma Housing Board Colony, Bhubaneswar, plot no. SB-07.

* Residential residence in Kalahandi's Biswanathpur, Lanjigarh.

*Khurda has a crusher unit.

* Crusher unit in Pokharibandh, Kalahandi, near Biswanathpur.

*Sahu's office at Hira Nila College in Biswanathpur, Kalahandi.

In August 2021, a four-member committee was formed on the orders of Sub-Collector Bhawanipatna to investigate allegations that the college's principal was implicated in a series of financial irregularities.

Sahu was recently charged in four cases in Kalahandi for allegedly stealing money from complainants by promising them college employment. The following charges have been levelled against him:

* Taking Rs 2.5 lakh from the plaintiff for a peon position.

* Taking Rs 1.7 lakh from the plaintiff for a sweeper position.

* Taking Rs 2.75 lakh from the plaintiff for a peon position.

* Taking Rs 2.5 lakh from the plaintiff for a peon position.
