Baripada: The staff of forest departments rescued an elephant from the well in the Tembatola village of Bangiriposhi block of Mayurbhanj late saturday, falling 20 feet deep.

According to reports, residents were trying to hunt down a flock of 8 elephants that came late Saturday night into the village when one of them fell into the open fountain.

In addition, staff of the Department of Forests arrived at the site and saved the elephant in approximately 5 hours, using the JCB machine.

After fallen into the well, the elephant suffered minor injuries, the sources claimed.
