Covid-19 Vaccination In Odisha Concludes From Today
Bhubaneswar: Only 10 doses or one vial of Covaxin vaccine are available for distribution in Odisha's Rayagada district, according to Nodal Officer of Covid vaccination Bijay Panigrahi.
Panigrahi stated that the COVID immunization campaign will conclude on Sunday following the administration of the final doses and will not be carried out in additional areas.
"Other vaccines — Covishield and Corbevax — have been out of stock for a long time because the Centre has not been distributing them to any state since October 12," Panigrahi told the media.
Odisha will now be added to the list of states that have finished the program successfully.
It is worth noting that the statewide COVID immunization campaign was initiated in Odisha on January 16, 2021, with healthcare personnel and frontline soldiers receiving vaccines first, followed by older residents and others in subsequent phases.
According to the COWIN website, 8,14,54,064 beneficiaries in Odisha have been vaccinated, with 3,52,49,736 (97%) receiving the first dosage and 3,30,00,164 (91%) receiving the second dose. Only 1,31,89,112 (40%) recipients have gotten the COVID preventive dose.
