Gajapati district administration geared up for cyclone Gulab
Paralakhemundi: The Gajapati district administration has also prepared and begun taking all necessary precautions to avoid loss of life and property as a result of Cyclone Gulab.
Gajapati Collector Lingaraj Panda has ordered all government employees and officers to report to their respective headquarters for two days on September 25 and 26.
They've also been told not to leave their base without permission from the collector.
The deep depression is roughly 470 kilometres east of Gopalpur and 540 kilometres east of Kalingapatnam. According to the IMD, it is expected to strengthen into a cyclone in the following 12 hours and make landfall near Kalingapatnam tomorrow evening.
With the cyclonic storm bearing down on the Odisha coast, the Collector and SP paid a visit to the low-lying parts of Paralakhemundi Municipality to assess the situation.
They also paid a visit to the district police command centre. The Collector stated that the control room numbers would be released today.
All government employees' leaves have been cancelled by the Koraput district administration as well.
