Cuttack: There were four Bangladeshis brought up from a refugee camp in Chandipur by the Crime Branch (CB), which has taken over the ITR spying case in the Balasore area.

According to CB sources, money transferred to the five detained ITR personnel for allegedly disclosing critical information about the missile testing facility to an ISI handler in Uttar Pradesh was placed in the accounts of these four Bangladeshi exiles.

Meanwhile, the Crime Branch's Special Task Force (STF) appealed to the Sub-Divisional Judicial Magistrate (SDJM), Balasore, for a seven-day remand of the four arrested contractual employees – Basanta Behera (52) of Jhampura, Hemanta Kumar Mistri (52) of Buanla, Tapas Ranjan Nayak (41) of Palasia and Sk Musafir (32) of Srikona (arre (arrested on September 16).

A deeper connection between the Crime Branch and the ISI may be inferred from the fact that the ISI handler is based in Uttar Pradesh, where Sachin was born.

Because he was a long-term employee of ITR and working as a driver, it's possible he taped a conversation between top DRDO officials and submitted it to the ISI for analysis.

Sources said that after questioning the five suspects in custody, a CB team would go for Uttar Pradesh.

Anurag Sen, DRDO's Chief Security Officer, was interrogated for almost two hours on Friday afternoon at the office of IG (Eastern Range) by the CB and NIA team from Kolkata. The IG was there.

The CSO, on the other hand, refused to give the media any information on the interrogation.
