Covid-19 claims 66 more lives In the State

Bhubaneswar: The State Government revealed on Thursday that additional 66 people have died as a result of Covid-19. The number of people killed in the state has now risen to 4,861.

The State Health and Family Welfare Department announced on Twitter that 21 people died in Khurda district, with 10 people dying in each of the districts of Bargarh and Sundargarh, eight in Balasore, and seven in Sambalpur.

Similarly, Bhadrak and Mayurbhanj districts each recorded two casualties, while Bolangir, Cuttack, Ganjam, Jagatsinghpur, Kalahandi, and Puri districts each reported one fatality case.

 “This list does not reflect deaths occurring on a particular day. It gives details of past deaths for which the death audit process has been duly completed and the cause of death has been identified as due to Covid-19,” the Health Department said. 

In the last 24 hours, the state has also recorded 2110 new Covid-19 cases, with 1213 reported from various quarantine centres and 897 local contacts. The TPR, on the other hand, was 2.92 percent.

Cuttack (323), Balasore (168), Kendrapara (132), and Puri continue to have the greatest number of single-day Covid cases with 458. (113). All other districts reported fewer than 100 cases. Nuapada district has reported the fewest two incidents.

With this, the total number of people infected with Covid-19 has risen to 9,47,859, with 9,20,646 people recovering from the disease. In the state, there were 22,299 active cases.
