Dhamnagar by-poll: Union Minister Pradhan to campaign tomorrow
Bhubaneswar: The BJP's top campaigner and Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan is prepared to support party candidate Suryabanshi Suraj for two days starting on Friday as electioneering for the Dhamnagar Assembly byelection in Odisha picks up momentum.
Dharmendra will support the party candidate on Friday and Saturday, according to Prithiviraj Harichandan, general secretary of the BJP's state unit, who was speaking to a press conference in Bhadrak.
Along with conducting door-to-door campaigning in the assembly constituency in the Bhadrak district, Dharmendra will hold road shows and speak at public gatherings to solicit votes for the BJP candidate.
The Union Railways Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw, the Minister of State for Tribal Affairs, and Jal Shakti Bishweswar Tudu, he claimed, will all travel to Dhamnagar to canvass support for Suraj from October 28 to October 31.
According to Harichandan, "the people of Dhamnagar are with the BJP and they have complete faith in Prime Minister Narendra Modi and his pro-people programmes."
On November 3, a vote will be held to fill the assembly seat. Suryabanshi Suraj, the son of the late MLA Bishu Charan Sethi, was put up by the BJP as their candidate, while senior member Abanti Das was put forth by the BJD.
