Ghatagaon: A guy was detained in the Keonjhar district of Odisha for reportedly posing as an officer with the Odisha Forest Service (OFS) and promising employment to young people in the forest division. Sujit Kumar Padhiary, a resident of Jajpur's Erabanka village in the Bari block, was named as the defendant.

Reports state that the defendant identified himself as an assistant forest conservator (ACF). Padhiary had been staying at a lodge while camping in Ghatagaon for the previous few days. He is accused of spreading the word that he would hire local kids in exchange for payment.

Locals, however, grew suspicious and discovered that he was a faker. The locals beat him before turning him over to the police.

From him, police seized three ATM cards, Rs 12,000, three counterfeit ID cards, a mobile phone with various SIM cards, a motorcycle called a Bullet, phoney Forest Department clothes, and several SIM cards. According to the police, Padhiary was a history-sheeter who also committed crimes in the districts of Puri, Angul, and Jajpur in addition to Keonjhar.
