Fake gutkha manufacturing unit busted

Jeypore: On Wednesday, police in Koraput district raided a duplicate tobacco production operation and arrested one individual in connection with it.

Based on credible evidence, authorities raided the Semiliguda unit and seized a large quantity of gutkha and tobacco goods, as well as sachets displaying well-known brands.

Manoj Behera, Sunabeda SDPO, estimated the recovered tobacco to be worth more than Rs 50 lakh. Aside from tobacco items, the location also had 11 manufacturing units seized.

The unit's owner was apprehended and will be sent to court. More research is being carried out.
