Former Employee Arrested In SBI Gold Loot Case Of Koraput

Koraput: On Sunday, two days after gold jewellery was stolen from a State Bank of India (SBI) branch in the district, police apprehended a former bank employee.

Following an investigation into the crime, the police seized the accused from his home in Bikrampur, according to sources. Sekhar Kuldipiya, the individual who was apprehended, was recognised.

They also seized 1.18 kilogrammes of stolen gold jewellery from Sekhar's home. According to accounts, the items were hidden in the hearth and a rice bowl in the kitchen.

The manager of the SBI's Laxmipur branch filed a police report on Friday alleging that gold jewellery worth 1.6 kg was stolen from the bank's locker.

A case had been filed and an investigation had begun.
