Former MLA Arjun Das dies in road accident in Jajpur

Jajpur: Arjun Charan Das, a former Congress MLA, was killed in a car accident in Odisha's Jajpur district on Saturday.
According to sources, the ex-legislator was riding a motorcycle when he was hit by a speeding truck on a bridge over the Kharasrota river near Baruhan in the district.
While Das was killed in the accident, another person who was with him was critically injured. He was taken to the hospital for treatment.
Between 1995 and 2000, he was the Congress legislator from Binjharpur Assembly constituency in Jajpur district, son of former Jajpur MP Anadi Das.
Das recently joined the Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) in Hyderabad, which is led by Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao.
