Former Odisha MLA Kangali Charan Panda Passes Away

Bhubaneswar: Kangali Charan Panda, a former Odisha MLA, died on Friday night after suffering a cardiac arrest. He was 77 years old. He died at his home in the Nayapalli area of Chennai.

According to family members, Panda collapsed and lost consciousness in the morning.

On Saturday, his body will be brought to the Congress Bhawan in New Delhi, where political leaders and people from all walks of life will be able to pay their respects.

He was from Garipur village in the Rasulpur block of Jajpur district's Bahadalapur panchayat.

Panda, a close associate of the late Chief Minister Janaki Ballabh Patnaik, was elected to the State Legislative Assembly in 1980 as an Independent candidate from the Dharmasala Assembly Constituency in the Jajpur district. On a Congress ticket, he won the seat for the second time in a row in 1985.
