Bhadrak: Approximately 10 people—five of them critically—were hurt during a fight between two groups in a village in the Bhadrak district of Odisha on Sunday over a relatively unimportant matter.

According to them, the incident occurred late on Saturday night at Ramapalli village, which is under the control of Chandbali police station in the district, when two groups got into a violent altercation over the construction of a road there.

As the opposing groups engaged in a fierce struggle using bamboo sticks, crowbars, and other weapons, about 10 individuals were hurt.

The Chandbali hospital received the injured patients right away. They claimed that five of them, five of whom allegedly suffered critical injuries, were later sent to the district headquarters hospital in Bhadrak.

After being alerted, a team of Chandbali police officers went to the scene and calmed the residents. To stop any more flare-ups, enough police officers were stationed in the vicinity.
