Bhubaneswar: Between 3 and 4 a.m. on Friday, the depression over the southwest Bay of Bengal moved north-westwards and crossed the beaches of north Tamil Nadu and bordering south Andhra Pradesh between Puducherry and Chennai.

Around 5.30 a.m., the system passed over north coastal Tamil Nadu and its environs, roughly 60 kilometres south-southwest of Chennai and 60 kilometres north-northeast of Puducherry, according to the India Meteorological Department (IMD). During the next 12 hours, it is expected to deteriorate into a well-defined low-pressure system.

Malkangiri, Koraput, and Gajapati are anticipated to see heavy rain on Saturday as a result of its effect.

Light to moderate rain or thundershowers are very likely to occur in a few spots in Malkangiri, Koraput, Rayagada, Gajapati, and one or two places in South Odisha over the next 24 hours, according to the forecast.

Rainfall is expected in numerous districts across the state until 8.30 a.m. on November 23, according to the MeT.

The lowest temperature (night temperature) will not change significantly over the next two days, although the mercury may rise by 2-3 degrees, according to the forecast.
