IPL betting ring busted with over Rs 6 lakh seized

Two gamblers were nabbed after police uncovered an IPL betting ring near Gosala Chowk in the town.

Harish Sahoo of Malipadar and Akhil Akil Khan of Tata Gali have been arrested. According to investigators, they were involved in online betting through a variety of websites.

They were found in possession of Rs 6.80 lakh, a mobile phone, a bank passbook, and several notebooks by police.

SDPO Nirmal Kumar Mohapatra headed the raid squad, and said the two suspects are part of a broader network.

They've been sent to the court.
