Jharsuguda Receives Central Approval For ITDA

Jharsuguda: The Centre has approved the establishment of a new ITDA (Integrated Tribal Development Agency) headquarters in Odisha's Jharsuguda district, which will benefit tribals in the state.
According to a notification issued by the Union Ministry of Tribal Affairs, the Jharsuguda blocks of Likera and Kirimera have also been designated as tribal sub-plan (TSP) blocks. The Odisha government requested this from the Centre in November 2017.
Notably, 119 blocks in 13 districts in Odisha have been recognized as TSP, with 22 ITDAs active.
The addition of Jharsuguda brings the total number of TSP blocks in the state to 121, the number of districts to 14, and the number of ITDAs to 23.
