Shiv Sunder Das, others apply for BCCI India selector post
Bhubaneswar: Shiv Sunder Das, a former Indian batsman from Odisha, is one of the candidates hoping to join the Board of Control for Cricket in India's (BCCI) new senior men's selection committee.
Other notable names include Nayan Mongia, Maninder Singh, and Ajay Ratra.
The application period ended on Monday (November 28). The BCCI will almost certainly constitute a Cricket Advisory Committee to conduct interviews. According to media reports, the new selection panel's first duty will be to choose the Indian side for the limited-overs series against Sri Lanka at home in 2023.
Das is currently the batting coach for Punjab. He worked as a coach at the National Cricket Academy and with the Indian women's squad.
Notably, his former Odisha teammate Debasis Mohanty's five-year time as a selector has ended, and Das might take his spot if picked.
