Killer cop Gopal undergoes Nacro test in Gujarat

Bhubaneswar: On Saturday, Gopal Das, the man accused of murdering Odisha Health Minister Naba Kishore Das, underwent a narco-analysis test in Gandhinagar, Gujarat.

According to sources, the narco-analysys test was performed on the dismissed police official after a thorough medical examination and two rounds of polygraph tests in the previous two days.

The first round of Gopal's polygraph test was conducted on Thursday at the Directorate of Forensic Science in Gandhinagar, followed by another round on Friday.

The ex-ASI was kept under observation following the narco-analysis test. According to sources, it takes some time to regain full consciousness after the complex test.

In Gandhinagar, an eight-member team led by investigating officer DSP Ramesh Chandra Dora is camping. Arun Bothra, ADG of the Crime Branch, is also present to oversee the investigation.

On February 8, the CB transported Gopal to Gujarat. Following court approval, he was placed on remand for five days for a thorough investigation and tests.

Though Gopal has reportedly admitted to killing the minister, the CB has yet to determine why. The tests are being carried out by the investigating agency in order to determine the motive behind the crime.

Previously, a team from New Delhi's Central Forensic Science Laboratory conducted a forensic psychological assessment and layered voice analysis test on Gopal in Jharsuguda. A special medical board comprised of psychiatry doctors conducted a detailed study of the accused's mental health in Jharsuguda, and the report is awaited.
