Dhenkanal: In a horrifying occurrence, a man is accused of beheading his wife in the Dhenkanal district of Odisha on Friday and walking to the police station while carrying her severed head.
According to reports, Nakapodi Majhi of Chandrasekharpur village in the Gondia police station's jurisdiction in the Dhenkanal district cut his wife's head with a sharp object and carried it to the police station.
However, Majhi was taken into custody by police while holding the severed head of his wife as he walked along the road close to Beltigiri hamlet.
Police also took the victim's body into custody and opened an investigation.
The accused allegedly killed his wife on the grounds of adultery, according to police sources, even if the precise reason for the murder has not yet been determined.
