Rayagada: According to sources, at least four persons, including a woman, have died from diarrhoea in the past two days in the Kashipur neighbourhood in Odisha's Rayagada district.

Sabita Naik (40), of Dudukabahal, and Dhoba Majhi (36), of Tikiri village, two of the four deceased, both experienced diarrhoeal symptoms and passed away today.

More than 12 Kashipur block residents who had the water-borne illness were treated in the hospitals in Kashipur and Tikiri.

As his condition worsened, one Gobardhan Naik from the village of Jalakura was transferred to this location's District Headquarters Hospital.

Before the report was submitted, no medical team had arrived in the impacted region.
