Naba Das murder: Crime Branch gets 5-day custody of accused cop

Bhubaneswar: The Crime Branch of the Odisha Police has placed Gopal Krishna Das, the accused in the murder of minister Naba Kishore Das, on 5-day remand for further questioning.

An eight-member team led by DSP Ramesh Chandra Dora and Gopal is camping in Gandhinagar, Gujarat, for various tests on the accused. The first round of Gopal's polygraph test was held today at SFSL, DFSS Gandhi Nagar, and will continue tomorrow. On Friday, he will also undergo a Narco Test following a thorough medical examination.

Gopal's Forensic Psychological Assessment (FPA) and Layered Voice Analysis (LVA) tests were completed in Jharsuguda by a team from CFSL in New Delhi. The special Medical Board, comprised of psychiatrists, has conducted a thorough examination of the accused's mental health, and the report is awaited.

On Tuesday, experts from SFSL, Gandhinagar, and the CB team recreated the crime scene. They also examined the physical evidence gathered during the investigation of the case.

A team of CB officers led by a DSP is conducting detailed service verification on the accused.

The ADGP of the CID Crime Branch has set up camp in Gandhi Nagar to monitor and supervise the investigation personally.
