Naveen Patnaik Releases Special COVID Assistance For PVTG Families

Bhubaneswar: On Wednesday, Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik used the virtual mode to deliver special COVID-19 aid of Rs 5,000 to PVTG households. The funds would be transferred to 64,214 recipients in Odisha's bank accounts.
Naveen Patnaik said “more than 300 people belonging to PVTG group were infected by the virus and were provided with ration kit worth Rs 2,250. They were also provided Rs 1,400 as labour compensation.”
He urged the PVTGs' families to receive COVID vaccines and to follow social distance and mask-wearing guidelines.
For the months of April, May, and June, the CM additionally awarded pre-matric scholarships to 60000 SC and ST students. Each girl student would receive Rs2400 in scholarship money, while each boy student will receive Rs2250. A total of 5 lakh students will be eligible for scholarships, which will be distributed in phases.
