Odisha's DGP travels to Nuapada to assess poll preparations and the Maoist situation

Nuapada: On Sunday, Odisha DGP Sunil Kumar Bansal arrived at Nuapada for a daylong visit.

Bansal met with district officials after arriving here at 10 a.m. to discuss security plans for the impending panchayat polls in Odisha.

Later, speaking to the media, Bansal stated that the district will be given with sufficient police and security personnel to guarantee that the elections are conducted smoothly and peacefully.

The DGP also gave an update on the Maoist situation in the area, praising police and security officials who were involved in anti-Maoist operations.

He stated that anti-Maoist actions will be stepped up ahead of the elections.

Among the top officers accompanying Bansal are IG (Operations) Amitabh Thakur and South Western Range DIG Rajesh Pandit.
