Bhubaneswar: On Sunday, popular Odia music director Goodly Rath and singer Pami Mishra joined the Congress in Bhubaneswar.

Both joined the Congress at a rally attended by the party's Odisha in-charge A Chellakumar, OPCC president Sarat Pattanayak, and numerous top state politicians.

With the addition of two notable and popular musicians to Congress, party leaders believe the organization will receive a significant boost in the state.

After joining the party, Goodly stated that he chose Congress since his father, Gangadhar Rath, was a member of the grand old party.

Furthermore, he stated that Congress leader Rahul Gandhi's ongoing Bharat Jodo Yatra has encouraged him to join the Congress, and that OPCC chief Sarat Pattanayak has also invited him to accept the party's membership.

Several other Congress officials had persuaded Goodly and Pami to join the party as well.

The joining program coincided with a key party conference to plan strategy for the 2024 elections.
