Odisha government has asked BSE and CHSE to make a decision on the board exams for classes X, XII

Bhubaneswar: The state government has directed the BSE and CHSE to make a conclusion on the topic after students protested against Board examinations for Classes X and XII.
School and Mass Education Minister Samir Ranjan Dash told reporters on Sunday that the government will make a judgement on the topic after receiving reports from the Board of Secondary Education (BSE) and the Council of Higher Secondary Education (CHSE). The BSE administers Class X exams, whereas the CHSE administers Class XII exams.
BSE and CHSE have been instructed to confer with all stakeholders, including school officials, teachers, students, parents, and specialists, before preparing their reports.
The minister stated that his agency will decide whether or not to hold the Board exams after evaluating the BSE and CHSE reports and taking into account the state's current COVID condition.
Suresh Chandra Mahapatra, the chief secretary, stated earlier this month that pupils should study for the upcoming offline board exams.
It prompted students all around the state to take to the streets in protest. A number of them argued that the exams should be cancelled, while another group argued that they should be rescheduled. They were all in agreement, however, that school and college officials should finish the courses before holding the exams.
Another group of students urged that the exams be held online owing to the state's COVID predicament.
