Odisha govt transfers 2 BDOs ahead of Dhamnagar Assembly bypoll
Bhubaneswar: Prior to the by-election for the Dhamnagar Assembly constituency, the Odisha government shifted the Block Development Officers (BDOs) of Dhamnagar and Tihidi in the Bhadrak district. The transfer of the BDOs was announced by the Panchayati Raj & DW Department.
In light of the upcoming by-election for the Dhamnagar Assembly constituency, the Bhadrak Collector has been requested to quickly remove Dhamnagar BDO Durga Charan Murmu and Tihidi BDO Basant Sahani.
While Kesinga tehsildar Jyotirmaya Kar will join as Tihidi BDO, Laxmipur tehsildar Banabihari Dinda will be posted as BDO in Dhamnagar. The two OAS officers have been asked to be promptly relieved by the Koraput and Kalahandi Collectors.
It is notable that an official notification for the November 3 by-election for the Dhamnagar Assembly constituency was released by the office of Sub-Collector, Bhadrak, on Friday.
After incumbent BJP MLA Bishnu Sethi passed away on September 19 at AIIMS-Bhubaneswar from kidney-related complications, a by-election for the Dhamnagar Assembly constituency became necessary. The two-time MLA spent the previous two months in the hospital. He was acting as the opposition's deputy leader in the Assembly.
