SCB Medical College Soon To Start Heart Transplant Unit

Cuttack: SCB Medical College & Hospital in Cuttack, Odisha, is planning to open a heart transplantation unit. In this regard, the institute has submitted a proposal to the state government.

The department was completely ready to create a heart transplantation centre, according to Prof Manoj Patnaik, head of Cardiothoracic & Vascular Surgery.

Last year, the department successfully performed open heart surgery on approximately 200 patients.

Odisha, according to Prof Patnaik, has more patients than donors when it comes to heart transplant surgery.
