Truck runs over cart in Deogarh; Couple, 2 bullocks dead

Deogarh: On Thursday, a speeding truck rammed into a couple's bullock waggon on NH-49 near Tileibani Chhak in Odisha's Deogarh district as they were returning to their farm to collect harvested produce.
Sarat Sahu, a farmer from Asurkhol village, and his wife Visakha have been identified as the victims. The truck was on its way from Deogarh to Sambalpur. The husband and wife were slain on the spot, and one of the bullocks was also killed after colliding with the huge vehicle's wheels.
While the truck's driver and helper managed to flee, villagers gathered and stopped the Sambalpur-Deogarh highway, demanding recompense for the dead family.
According to sources, after being notified, police arrived on the scene and told the residents that necessary action would be taken.
