Cuttack: In the Cuttack district today, a woman was allegedly attacked by an unnamed criminal in Nuapatna village, which is within the jurisdiction of Tigiria police station.
Reena Sahoo, the victim, is 36 years old and was admitted to the hospital with severe burn injuries.
The report indicates that at roughly 4.15 am, the miscreant attacked the woman as soon as she left her home by throwing acid on her. After hitting the woman with acid, the scoundrel ran away.
She was soon transferred to the SCB Medical College and Hospital after her health deteriorated after being brought to the Tigiria Community Health Centre (CHC) in a severe state.
Though the exact reason behind the acid attack is yet to be known, it is being suspected that the incident is the fallout of non-payment of the loan.
