Jeypore: COVID-19 has been detected in six third-year MBBS students at Saheed Laxman Naik Medical College in Koraput, Odisha.
According to sources, the hostel boarders who have been placed in isolation rooms had no previous travel history and may have got the infection after coming into contact with a COVID positive patient.
Krushna Chandra Biswal, the medical college's dean, said preventative measures are being taken to prevent the infection from spreading further on campus. So far, 120 kids out of a total of 500 have been tested.
