Bhubaneswar: On Monday, Odisha Vigilance sleuths apprehended an Amin of Balasore-Mayurbhanj Major Settlement, Baripada, for allegedly accepting a Rs 6,300 bribe.
According to a Vigilance release, the accused, Manas Ranjan Das, demanded illegal gratification from the complainant for issuing certified copies of RoR of ancestral land settled in the name of his grandfather.
While a case has been registered under Section 7 of the Prevention of Corruption (Amendment) Act 2018, simultaneous searches are being conducted at three locations associated with Das to determine whether he had accumulated assets disproportionate to his known sources of income, according to the statement.
