Baridapa: Similipal National Park is to be opened for tourism from November 1st, in Odisha's Mayurbhanj district.
Between 7 am and 9 pm entrance is permitted into the park. Official sources added that tourists may book overnight accommdation on the Website at Gudgudia, Kumari, Ramtirtha, Barehipani and Jamuani at www.ecotourodisha.com.
The park has stayed closed, as long as May after a COVID boom, as one of the largest parks in the country spans an area of 2 750 sq km. Some Lulung Aranya Nivas personnel have been reported to have tested for the virus positively.
It opened in November last year after over eight months of preparation, with stringent limitations including a limit on the number of cars accessing the Baripada Wildlife Division from the numerous entrances of the park.
