Puri: In the Puri district of Odisha, a boat with about 50 people on board reportedly became stranded in Chilika lake close to Satapada on Monday.
According to sources, the ferry boat was carrying more than 10 motorcycles, a few bicycles, and a number of other things when it became stuck in the middle of the road.
According to reports, the passenger boat was traveling from Satapada to Janhikuda in the Krushnaprasad area when it became stuck in the middle of the lake. While the precise cause is yet unknown, the boat was said to have experienced a technical issue after leaving Satapada some 0.5 kilometers away.
The local government acted quickly to rescue the passengers who were in a panic after being informed and sprang into action.
