Bodies of 2 Kanwariyas recovered this morning from Shalandi River

The bodies of two kanwariyas who had gone missing after being swept away in the Salandi river in Odisha's Balasore district were discovered on Tuesday.

Balasore: The bodies of two kanwariyas who had gone missing after being swept away in the Salandi river in Odisha's Balasore district were discovered on Tuesday.

Subrat Mahakud and Rajesh Sahu of Barajayapur village in the district's Khaira block were identified as the victims.

The two were swept away on Monday while taking a dip in the river in the Barada area with other kanwariyas on their way to a Shiva temple to pour holy water on the occasion of Sravan month Monday.

Following the incident, the Odisha Disaster Rapid Action Force (ODRAF) launched a search operation to locate and rescue them. The bodies of the two devotees were recovered from the river today, according to sources.
