High Court imposes interim stay on Odisha Civil Services 2021 results
The Orissa High Court has issued an interim stay on the release of the Odisha Civil Services 2021 results.
Cuttack: The Orissa High Court has issued an interim stay on the release of the Odisha Civil Services 2021 results.
Hearing a petition filed on virtual mode by a divyang candidate, the court has asked the Odisha Public Service Commission (OPSC) not to release the results without its permission. "However, the results of the recruitment shall not be published without the leave of this Court," the order stated.
The next hearing has been scheduled for the first week of September.
Satish Kumar Panigrahi filed a complaint with the High Court after he was denied permission to take the Personality Test. He asked the OPSC for permission to take the test under the PWD category.
The petitioner claimed that despite applying under the PWD category and providing a disability certificate issued by the relevant medical authority indicating that he had 40% temporary disability, he was not allowed to take the personality test.
Quotas will be provided to candidates with 40% permanent disability under the provisions of the Persons with Disabilities Act of 2016.
The HC then directed the OPSC to allow him to take part in the ongoing personality test. The state government has also been ordered to form a medical board to examine the petitioner and produce the medical certificate before the next hearing.
